HighCad++ is not yet terminated. Final release will have it. Looks to Tips & Tricks to have some information.

Installing over a old HighCad++ version don't work.
Some installation must be removed before installing a new version. To do it deinstall the previous version using Control Panel, if it don't work download and use the "Reset HighCad++ toolbars" file in the download page.

You say that HighCad is a programmable CAD, what it means or how can I program it?
HighCad can be programmed using Borland (Inprise) C++ Builder 5. To do it you need HDK (HighCad Development Kit). You can build one (or more) hdm (HighCad Dynamic Module) that can extend HighCad features as commands, entities, import/export filters, etc.
  Example: All the HighCad++ base commands are in the external module main.hdm.

Registered users can ask us HDK for free.
